New Delhi: Amazon is reportedly working on a new Kindle Paperwhite, which is likely to be unveiled in the second quarter of the next year. According to a report from TechCrunch, the new e-book reader will come with a high-resolution 300 ppi screen.

Apart from a higher resolution screen, the new Paperwhite is speculated to come with a few hardware improvements. TechCrunch claims to have seen a prototype of the device. It says, the prototype of the device "has a front screen that is flush with the edges of the device, rather than recessed, and is made out of very matte glass of some sort, not plastic." The new model is also expected to be lighter than this year's models.

The report also claims that Amazon is also working on new typography for the upcoming device with a custom-built font. The new Kindle may feature a rear power button.
