Assault case against Yediyur corporator

BANGALORE: A call centre employee has filed a case against Yediyur corporator N R Ramesh for allegedly assaulting and threatening him for overtaking his car. Vijay, a resident of Tavarekere near BTM Layout, is the complainant. He has filed a case in Banashankari police station on Wednesday. He is an employee of a call centre located near Yediyur.According to the police, Vijay along with his friends Mohan and Jitendra was heading towards a hotel for lunch on Wednesday afternoon. Near Umamaheshwara Temple at Yediyur, he overtook a car and proceeded. But the car chased and waylaid Vijay’s car. Corporator Ramesh, along with four others, alighted from the car and he allegedly hurled filthy abuses at Vijay asking him ‘How dare you overtake a corporator’s car?’.“The complainant has also alleged that the corporator punched on his face as he was sitting in the driver’s seat and threatened him of dire consequences, while four of his associates also hurled abuses,” the police added.Vijay is injured around his eyes in the assault and has undergone treatment.
