HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party on Friday took exception to appointment of AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad as the chairman of the Congress coordination committee.Speaking to reporters here, TDP spokesman A Revanth Reddy said it was an insult to the Telugu pride as the committee was meant to ensure that the party and the government in the state work with perfect understanding. He demanded that the committee be headed by someone from the state."Azad, who is a Kashmiri, running the show in the state affairs is nothing but insulting all the Telugus. It is a tradition in the Congress as the party is headed by an Italian and now the state administration is being run by a Kashmiri," Revanth ridiculed. He said the TDP would resume its fight for the selfrespect of Telugus. It is nothing to do with political parties, all the Telugus cutting across the party lines should denounce the coordination committee headed by a Kashmiri, Revanth said.He termed chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana incapable leaders. That's why the Congress sent Azad to oversee the AP affairs, he added.
