For those who believe they have the oomph factor and the ability to make heads turn, then ‘Miss Kerala 2012’ is the stage for you. The auditions for the beauty pageant hunt will be held in Cochin at The Wyte Fort, Vytilla on October 7 from 10 am to 1 pm.
The event, that has been a hit for the last 12 years, is all set for another year and organisers, Impresario Event Management India Ltd are keen to keep the flag flying high.
The contest will be a gateway for Malayalee women to become a star overnight. Every contestant will get the chance to enter into the world of glitz and glamour. And they would also get the chance of meeting and interacting with several renowned people and explore a world of opportunities.
“In a decade, we have witnessed more than 3000 applicants from Keralites spread across the globe with various backgrounds. Nearly 300 girls have contested in the final round and have excelled not just in the glamour industry, but in their chosen field of academic pursuits,” says Harish Babu, managing director, Impresario Event Management India Ltd.
Renowned grooming experts will train the contestant to develop the overall personality as well as equip them to participate in national and international beauty pageants. It has been a platform to showcase beauty as well as talent. Malayalam actress Rima Kallingal (1st runner-up Miss Kerala 2008), anchor turned actress Shruthi Menon (1st runner-up Miss Kerala 2002) and leading anchor, model and actress Ranjini Haridas (Miss Kerala 2000), have shot up to fame through Miss Kerala and marked their presence in the world of glitz and glamour. It’s not just about beauty on ramp but about empowering women to a successful career.
Girls who wish to participate in the contest should be a Malayali in origin (at least one parent) and should be between the age group of 18-24, with a minimum height of 5.2”. Participant should also submit 3 latest photographs (one close up, one profile and one full length).
The final 22 contestants will be groomed for a week by an expert panel of achievers and celebrities, before the contestants hit the ramp to vie for the crown of Miss Kerala. Apart from the main title, the contestants would be awarded with various other subtitles.
