Motorcycle-borne criminals on Monday looted Rs 3.5 lakh from a school teacher which he had withdrawn for wedding of his daughter in New Area of Bihar's Nawada district, police said.
The criminals accosted the teacher Lakhan Prasad while he was drinking water from a roadside tap after withdrawing money from a bank branch in Gosai Bigha village and snatched the bag containing the money, officer in-charge of town police station Sriprakash Singh said.
Hearing the cry of the victim, people chased the criminals and managed to catch one, he said adding after thrashing him the locals handed him over to the police.
But, two others managed to escape with the cash, the OC said adding search was on for them.
