BHUBANESWAR: Both Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress have planned to make the most of Gandhi Jayanti. While the ruling party onSaturday announced a Statewide padayatra, Congress declared a silent dharnaacross the districts. The BJD said the all party workers will conduct padayatrasstarting Sunday till October 11, birth anniversary of Jaiprakash Narayan. Theprogramme will start in the City in Ward 36. Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra will address a gathering on the occasion.Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress has chosen the occasion to highlight the corruption and mis-governance of Naveen Patnaik Government.PCC president Niranjan Patnaik has appealed all its workers to stage a silentdharna and sensitise people on the failures of the BJD Government in handling the flood situation and subsequent relief and restoration works.Besides paying tributes to the Father of the Nation, he said, the party workers in all 314 blocks and 103 urban local bodies will make a silent appeal to the people to revolt against the BJD government.
