Jodhpur: A bevy of Bollywood stars lined up to appear in a Jodhpur court on Monday.
It was not for shooting a film, but for shooting a blackbuck eight years ago.
Salman, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre are facing charges of shooting two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur.
The stars turned up in the court on Monday to hear the chargesheet that was filed against them.
Salman Khan is the main accused in the case.
According to the Public Prosecutor N K Sankhla, there was prima facie evidence against the six accused - Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and a Jodhpur resident Dushyant.
Under the Section 148 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the court had also directed framing of charges against Salman in relation to the joining assembly with a deadly weapon, the Wildlife Protection Act and the Arms Act.
Charges against the remaining accused were framed under Section 147 of IPC related to unlawful assembly and under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act and Section 149.
On February 17, Salman, who was booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, was sentenced to one-year imprisonment in a Chinkara poaching case.
Giving its verdict, the Jodhpur court had also directed Khan to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
Khan was facing charges of shooting two blackbucks at Kankani in Luni block of the district on October 1 and 2, during the filming of the movie Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998.
