Book railway retiring rooms online now

CHENNAI: As a part of its drive to improve amenities for commuters, the Indian Railways has launched an online booking facility for retiring rooms. It is also available at Madurai and Rameswaram  railway stations.You book your accommodation in retiring rooms when you apply for your journey ticket. The system also enables you to know the vacancy position of retiring rooms at various locations where the online booking system is available.This facility is being initially offered at 18 stations and would soon be extended to Chennai Egmore.According to a press release, the online booking system was developed in association with the Centre for Railway Information System.
