Bryan bros win Aus Open men's doubles
It was the Bryans' third Grand Slam doubles title at a major tournament after the 2003 French Open and last year's US Open win.

Melbourne: Americans Bob and Mike Bryan broke through for their first Australian Open men's doubles title in the final against India's Leander Paes and Martin Damm of the Czech Republic on Saturday.

The top seeded Bryan brothers, who lost in the finals at the Open in the last two years, came from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in 1hour 59minutes.

"Unbelievable. I had nothing left in my body by the end of that match. It was so emotional," Bob Bryan said.

"We were hanging on. We were down break points pretty much every game in the third set. It was just pure relief and happiness and excitement at the end. Not many words can describe the feeling."

Mike said, "It feels good to get this notch because over the last two years we came up a little short. But, there's nothing more special than winning a Slam with your brother. So this is going to feel good for a long time."

It was the Bryans' third Grand Slam doubles title at their third different major tournament after winning at the 2003 French Open and last year's US Open.

"We have one trophy case at our house. We put all our doubles trophies in there. We share everything, a car, a house," said Bob.

And it was third time lucky in Australia for the twins who lost to Frenchmen Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro in 2004 and Zimbabwean pair Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett last year.

Paes was bidding for his fourth Grand Slam doubles title in his seventh final after winning the 1999 and 2001 French Opens and 1999 Wimbledon with Indian playing partner Mahesh Bhupathi.

It was Damm and Paes' first Grand Slam final as a team.
