CBI probe into land deal sought

PURI: Skeletons are tumbling out of the closet of the district administration with the illegal transfer of land in front of the Swargadwar to certain influential land mafia in the town coming to the fore.  Two days after an FIR was lodged against Minister Maheswar Mohanty over the issue by Jagannath Sena, a socio-cultural organisation, members of 26 organisations hit the streets on Tuesday. They staged a dharna in front of the collectorate demanding restoration of the cremation land and punitive action against those involved in the illegal dealings.Zilla Parishad president Sankarshan Parida and District Congress Committee president Sarat Kumar Rath, who also took part in the agitation, flayed the civic body for the illegal land transfer.
