BANGALORE: To counter the alleged discrepancies meted out to the workers in government undertakings, the Joint Action Front (JAF) of Bangalore-based public sector units will hold All Central Public Sector Workers meeting on January 13. The committee convener B V Manohar said that many decisions taken by the government is detrimental to their interests. Addressing media persons, he said that issues such as price hike had affected workers. “The decision of the government to disinvest profit making companies like the Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), is not beneficial to workers,” he said and added that the JAF was against the move. Stating that the government was making anti-policies, he said that contracts were detrimental to the welfare of the workers. One of their demands was being paid minimum wages by particular companies. “For the first time, all the trade unions have come together to fight for the same cause,” he said and added that the Defence PSU guidelines were still not available to the workers.
