BANGALORE: Lokayukta police on Friday filed the chargesheet against nine persons, including former minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu, his son Katta Jagadish Naidu and others in the multicrore KIADB scam.
The Governor on Wednesday gave sanction to the Lokayukta to prosecute Naidu and the investigation agency filed the chargesheet within two days. Now the court has summoned the accused to appear before the court on July 19 for starting the trial.The criminal case (Crime Number 57/2010) was registered under the Prevention Of Corruption Act and under IPC Sections 419,420,465, 468, 471 against Naidu, Katta Jagadish, S V Srinivas (MD of ITASKA), Jaggaiah and Venkaiah (of Indu builders and Developers), Basavapoorniah (MD of United Telecom), Muninarayana, Special land acquisition officer (SLAO), KIADB, and corporator Gopi and B K Manju. The Lokayukta has excluded the names of two KAS officers, H L Shivananda and Vijay Shankar, from the chargesheet.

The High Court on Friday issued warrant against Mysore deputy commissioner and Special Land Acquisition officer (SLAO) for not implementing the court order relating to awarding compensation to a farmer whose land was acquired for Harangi irrigation project.

Hearing a contempt petition filed by Rajegowda, who has moved the High Court challenging the delay in awarding compensation for two acres of land acquired for the project way back in 1998.

When the matter reached the court, the respondents assured to compensate for the land acquired.
