New Delhi: Home Minister P Chidambaram will undertake a two-day visit to Kashmir Valley from Monday during which he would hold a security review and meet officials of South Kashmir besides visiting a border post in North Kashmir.
Chidambaram will arrive in Srinagar on Monday evening along with Director General of CRPF K Vijay Kumar, BSF Chief Raman Srivastava and senior officials from Home Ministry.
Official sources said he will hold a security review meeting along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday.
The meeting will be attended only by police, para-military forces and officials of state and central home department.
He will later go to Pahalgham where he will be meeting the officials of South Kashmir. The meeting is part of series of interactions that the Home Minsiter started with officials at the district level. In October 2010, he held a meeting in Baramulla in North Kashmir and in February a similar meeting was held in Doda in Jammu region.
During the meeting, he will review the development work in South Kashmir and security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra. Before flying back on Wedesday, he will also visit Neeru post manned by BSF in Gurez sector of North Kashmir. He will interact with jawans there.
