CHENNAI: Celebrating children as they celebrated nature in all its beauty is how one can describe the drawing competition that took place at the Government Museum in Egmore recently. At least 70 primary class students paid a visit to the museum and gave life to their thoughts about nature using crayons and watercolours.  The drawing competition was organised by the Government Museum, as part of its Children’s Day celebrations held every year. On Friday morning, kindergarten and Class I students kickstarted their work on the topic of Flowers, Fruits and Vegetables, followed by students of classes II-V, who had to express their thoughts on the topic Animals and Natural Scenes. Students from classes VI-VIII were given the theme Harbour, Airports or Railway Stations. A stamp design contest is to be held today for students of classes IX-XII with the theme Post Office 2050.Oratorical competitions are also scheduled to be held as part of the Children’s Day celebrations for students of classes VI-XII. These competitions, scheduled for November 4, will have two sections. While the topics for middle school students will be National Leaders/My India and National Integration, senior secondary students will be expected to deliver speeches on India 2020.
