CoP assures of swift action

TIRUCHY: There was an overwhelming response at the special grievances redressal camp on land grabbing, the first of its kind in the State, held at the office of the City Commissioner of Police here on Monday. About 50 petitions were submitted.Reacting to the response from the public, Commissioner of Police (CoP) E Ma Masanamuthu said, “The public were afraid to come out with such land grabbing cases as most of the accused are politically affluent. In order to create confidence among the public, we have formed an anti-land grabbing special wing.” Four Inspectors were deputed to receive the petitions.“I have asked the police to take follow-up action within two days,” he said.
