PUDUCHERRY: A court here viewed the video recordings of the questioning of accused by investigators in the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Sankaracharyas are the prime accused.Principal District and Sessions Judge T Ramaswamy and the counsels of both prosecution and defence, viewed three video recordings on Thursday. The remaining would be viewed on Friday. The Judge recorded the minutes of the proceedings in the presence of the counsels of both the sides. It may be recalled that Special Public Prosecutor N Devadoss had filed a petition in the last hearing seeking the court to view the video recordings, which had been “vital documents” in the case.  The judge then admitted the Special Public Prosecutor’s plea and fixed August 11 as date for viewing them.Sankararaman, the manager in Varadarajaperumal temple in Kancheepuram, was allegedly murdered on the premises of the temple on September 3, 2004.Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi are prime accused in the case. Of the total 189 witnesses, 81 turned hostile.  The trial was shifted to Puducherry from a Chengalpattu court on a directive of the Supreme Court in October 2005.
