Delhi Man Found Hanging Beside Bloodied Bodies of Wife, 4-yr-old Kid, Police Suspects Murder-Suicide

A shocking incident of alleged murder-suicide has surfaced in Delhi with the discovery of three bodies of a family inside a house in Nihal Vihar on Friday. A gruesome scene unfolded at a house in Gali No 5 of Nihal Vihar when police responded to a PCR call at 9:30 am and reached the site to find the bloodied bodies of a mother-daughter duo on the bed. The father was found hanging from the ceiling with traces of blood on his body.

Police suspect that the husband murdered his wife and daughter before hanging himself. The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Ajay, his wife, Teena, 38, and the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Varsha.

The couple also has a 22-year-old son Kushal who works as an electrician. He had gone to work when the incident happened and found the bodies upon returning home in the morning. It was not immediately clear if Kushal had made the PCR call.

The door to the room where the bodies were discovered was found locked from the inside, police said. Prima facie it looked like Teena and Varsha were killed with a sharp weapon. A crime team and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team were called to the spot for further investigation. Senior officers including ACP Paschim Vihar also reached the site to take stock of the situation.

The deceased, Ajay worked as a confectioner and also has a 22-year-old son, Kushal, who works as an electrician. Prima facie it seems that Ajay first murdered his wife and daughter with a sharp weapon and later committed suicide by hanging himself.

A case has been registered under section 302 of IPC. An investigation into the case is underway.
