Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) along with the Swedish embassy on Sunday inaugurated the Nobel Memorial Wall at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station to popularise Indian Nobel laureates, a statement said.
The Nobel Memorial Wall exhibits portraits of Rabindranath Tagore, C.V. Raman, Mother Teresa, Amartya Sen, and this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner, Kailash Satyarthi among others.
It will be up on display till November 1 as part of the 'Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week'.
"The contributions of our Nobel laureates have given India recognition all over the world and this wall is a unique way to honour them. It also gives an opportunity to our youth to know more about them," said Mangu Singh, managing director of DMRC.
Sweden's Ambassador Harald Sandberg said the wall paid tributes to the Nobel laureates of India "for their contribution to the world".
"We are extremely delighted to have an addition to the wall this year with a panel on Kailash Satyarthi, winner of the Peace Prize for 2014," Sandberg said.
