New Delhi: Driven by greed to own a house, a 36-year-old tenant killed his landlord but was arrested after the victim's sister caught him red handed, police said on Tuesday.
Rajesh, a driver, strangled his 55-year-old landlord to death in his east Delhi's Bhajanpura house on Monday night.
"He was arrested late Monday night after the victim's sister saw him trying to hide the victim's body. She informed police about the incident," said a police officer.
The accused said that he wanted to usurp his landlord's house.
"Rajesh had not paid rent for three months. When his landlord asked him to pay up, Rajesh beat him up and finally strangled him," the officer said.
