CHENNAI: DMK chief M Karunanidhi was hospitalised due to a discomfort he complained of in the lower abdomen region late on Monday evening.Karunanidhi, who was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Greams Road, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection due to which he was had pain in the lower abdomen. He was being treated at the critical care unit.Hospital sources said that the DMK patriarch, who is kept under observation for the urinary tract infection, is otherwise stable. “He will be discharged either on Tuesday or a day after,” the source added. However, the DMK sources maintained that the leader had visited the hospital only for a routine check-up.Karunanidhi underwent a major surgery during February 2009 for his affliction in lower back.
