Dont use cellphone on duty, cops told

Senior superintendent of police (Traffic), Bhairon Singh Gurjar, felicitated  Tamilarasan, son of a police constable, Datchanamoorthy, for passing the JIPMER Medical Entrance Test and securing admission in the first year MBBS course at the JIPMER Medical College.

Gurjar honoured Tamilarasan at a function, organised to felicitate traffic police personnel adjudged as the best in July 2012. Superintendent of police (Traffic), N T Sivadasan, inspectors  N Ravikumar, Rajasankar Vellot, B Arumugam, officials and constables of the traffic police wing were present.

Addressing the gathering, Gurjar also advised the police personnel not to use cellphones in duty hours as it distracts their regulation duty.

SP N T Sivadasan said the traffic police should behave properly and improve the image of the force. Sivadasan advised them not to treat the traffic offenders as criminals.

J M Patrick, a sub-inspector with the traffic police station (North), was presented a commendation certificate, while constable V Rangarajan was given a certificate and a cash award of Rs 1,000. Others felicitated were constables V Balathandayatham, K Vengataraman, R Balamurugan and V Kuppusamy.
