CHENNAI: The Dhaanish Ahmed School of Management (DASM) sand Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering, Padappai, Chennai recently organised a 12-day Faculty Development Programme in Entrepreneurship, sponsored by the Ministry of Science & Technology (NSTEDB), Government of India. The programme was inaugurated by R Kannan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Survey and Settlements (Government of Tamil Nadu).R Jayaraman, Member Secretary, CED delivered the key note address and R Balakrishnan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary and Director - EDI presided over the inaugural function.The aim of the FDP programme was to equip the teachers and trainers of entrepreneurship with the current developments in the field of entrepreneurship, to assist them in establishing Entrepreneurship Development Cells in their colleges, to undertake Government sponsored Entrepreneurship Development Programme for the benefit of students community, to encourage teaching faculty to undertake industry related research work and consultancy assignments sponsored by various agencies, to conduct Management Development Programme for the employees of the industries in Chennai and to empower women to establish Self Help Groups, to train them for group entrepreneurship.Notable resource persons, who delivered lectures, included BP Murali, Former Chief Faculty, EDI, VS Sukumaran, EDII, Thrissur, KR Gnanasambandhan, Vice President, TANSTIA, Sr Lourthu Mary, Consultant, Erode, R Jayaraman, Member Secretary, CED (Tamil Nadu), Madurai, NP Mohapatra, DGM, NABARD, Chennai and SM Ghias, General Manager, DIC, Kanchipuram.
