BARIPADA: With the arrest of two persons from Bihar, Chandua police in Mayurbhanj district on Monday claimed to have busted an inter-state ganja smuggling gang. Police have also seized a four-wheeler along with huge quantity of ganja packets. The contraband was recovered from Jharjharia canal road near Haldia dam during police patrolling. The arrested persons have been identified as Sintu Panda (20), a resident of Kachenia village, and Dharmendra Tiwari (40) of Ashapadari village in Bastar district.Chandua OIC Jayanarayan Khandei said they had seized 199 kg of ganja kept in 1-kg packets, which would be priced around ` 3 lakh. They brought the contraband from Angul district for supply to Kolkata. The arrested persons will be produced in the court on Tuesday.
