Give Cong a shock treatment: Venkaiah
BJP Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress should be given a shock treatment in the coming Delhi municipal polls.

New Delhi: BJP Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said that the Congress should be given a shock treatment in the coming Delhi municipal polls alleging that the ruling party has betrayed the people of Delhi by not keeping its promises.

On Sunday Naidu addressed a number of poll rallies in the city.

Naidu said that Congress has failed on all fronts from providing relief to traders who were facing sealing of their shops to checking prices of essential commodities.

"The issues of 'bijli-pani', increase in fuel prices, worsening road conditions and lack of civic amenities in the city are the testimony of Congress rule," PTI quoted him as saying.

“Unprecedented corruption in the MCD is another reason for the people to teach the Congress a lesson and through this election they should give Congress a shock treatment," he said.

"The issue of Vandemataram, soft-peddling of execution of Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru, communal reservations and withdrawal of troops from Jammu and Kashmir show the vote-bank politics of the Congress," he added.

He said BJP was committed to make Delhi a world-class city.
