HYDERABAD: As anticipated, the government put its psy ops against the Telangana agitators into high gear while at the same time inviting Telangana Employees’ leaders to talks on Wednesday afternoon.On the other side, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao launched his own countermanoeuvres, cancelling his Delhi visit, postponing the planned rail roko and rallying his troops with a highoctane speech at a mahadharna by Telangana government staff.Apart from putting out reports that more buses are back on the roads and that coal production in the Singareni mines was improving, the government also initiated action against several strike leaders.The police on Monday registered disorder and criminal intimidation cases against five RTC strike leaders who have resisted a move by state-level leaders of the APSRTC’s National Mazdoor Union to break the agitation.The transport utility’s managing director B Prasada Rao chipped in with a warning to strikers that they face termination if they do not get back to work in three days.It was also learnt that the government has lined up action against the Telangana employees leading the agitation.These are said to include Telangana Employees JAC leaders like K Swami Goud and others who are likely to be hit with the rap of violation of the AP civil services rules.The government, sources said, is seeking legal opinion before chancing its arm.Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy summoned DGP V Dinesh Reddy and intelligence chief Mahender Reddy to convey instructions that action against agitators be firm and unrelenting.Duly, the DGP went on to personally inspect bus and railway stations and stationed a huge posse of policemen at Secretariat.Alongside these signals, an invitation was sent to Telangana staff leaders to attend talks with the group of ministers in D Block of Secretariat at noon Wednesday.A 12-member JAC delegation, including K Swami Goud, is expected to attend the talks.Plus, Singareni, RTC, teachers, excise and other employee union leaders will also participate
