BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday extended the stay against Justice Padmaraj Commission's probe into the alleged land scams involving Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for another eight weeks, in the case challenging the appointment of the Commission to look into the alleged irregularities in land allocation in Karnataka since 1995.JD(S) spokesperson Y S V Datta had filed a writ petition pleading that the Lokayuta should probe the irregularities and not the Commission. It may be recalled that Datta had challenged the appointment of the Commission to look into the alleged irregularities in allotment of land through KIADB and denotification of lands through BDA since 1995.The division bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar has extended the interim stay for another eight weeks since Justice A S Bopanna, who had heard the case earlier with the Chief Justice, is currently in the Dharwad circuit bench.
