High tides spread panic

BERHAMPUR: After Podempeta in Ganjam block, it is now the  turn of people in five villages in coastal Chhatrapur block to spend sleepless nights due to high tides. Due to low-pressure induced rain and high tide, people are apprehensive of sea water entering the villages since Sunday. The villages are Badaarjyapalli, Sanaarjyapalli, Badakaturu, Sanakaturu and Kandaraarjyapalli, inhabited mostly by fishermen. Sea water had entered some parts of these coastal villages but did not cause any damage. The villagers have urged the administration to construct stone walls to prevent sea water from entering the villages.
