Hiriyur TMC VP consumes poison in office

CHITRADURGA/HIRIYUR: Irked over non cooperation in developmental activities by president and officials of TMC, vicepresident Jyothi Lakshmi tried to commit suicide by consuming poison during the monthly council meeting at Hiriyur TMC premises on Thursday.
She was immediately rushed to taluk hospital and administered first aid. Later, she was shifted to Chitradurga district hospital for further treatment. Her condition is said to be stable.Frequent clash for power might be the reason for the extreme step, according to some members.
