Housemaid run over by MTC bus

CHENNAI: A 35-year-old housemaid was run over by an MTC bus at Pondy Bazaar as police arrested the driver on Saturday.Police said that V Lakshmi (35) of Dharmapuram, T Nagar,working as a maid in a house in the same area, was walking on road when an MTC bus 47A hit and ran over her, killing her on the spot. Lakshmi’s  body was taken to Royapettah Government Hospital and subsequently Pondy Bazaar traffic police arrested bus driver Jen Premkumar. Pondy Bazaar traffic police said that Lakshmi was separated from her husband and had been living with her two children.
