Scaffolding collapsed
Mumbai authorities mobilised rescue efforts to extricate those trapped beneath the rubble, while ambulances rushed to the scene to provide medical assistance. In another scary incident, a scaffolding collapsed at Wadala.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously issued a yellow alert for certain parts of the city for May 13, warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and dry, gusty winds, especially in Thane and Raigad districts.
Mumbai traffic police said that vehicular movement was slow at Pooja Junction (Wadala) North Bound and Freeway Tunnel Trombay South due to the fall of the hoarding.
Meanwhile, Social media users took to X to share weather updates and expressed relief as gusty winds brought the mercury down by a few degrees.
