Expressing concern over Industrial Development Bank of India's decision to terminate services of its contractual employees on June 30, Rajasthan Pradesh Contractual and Outsourced Bank Employees' Union on Friday said IDBI should not discontinue the services of over 500 employees working for years with IDBI-INTECH in Rajasthan.
Rather, IDBI having outsourcing with INTECH and hired hundreds of employees on contract about ten years ago should regularise these employees, Mahesh Mishra, its President told a press conference in Jaipur. IDBI has served termination orders in back date to about 5,000 employees, including 500 in Rajasthan who have been working on contracts, Lokesh Mishra, COBEU which is affiliated to AIBEA, said.
The IDBI selected Global Innovsource Soloutions Pvt Ltd as new outsource company and ended contract with INTECH, Mishra said. As a matter of fact these employees were fully working for IDBI's 39 branches in Rajasthan, and it was violation of Labour Laws, Sharma added.
If IDBI does not withdraw its letter served to these contractual employees, COBEU along with AIBEA (All India Bank Employees Associaton) will launch a long term agitation, Shamra said. The union has already moved to the local labour courts for restoration of employees' services, he added.
