HUBLI: A nine-member team led by Dr TV Ramachandra of The Indian Institute of Sciences-Bangalore (IIS-B) will visit the project area of the Hubli-Ankola railway line on Friday and Saturday to study the adverse impact of the project on the environment and bio-diversity of the Western Ghats.The other members of the team are: Dr MD Subhaschandran, Dr Prakash Mesta, Srikant Naik, Bharat Settur, Bharat Ital, Sumesh Dudani, Srikant Rao and Vishnu Mukti.They will discuss the technical aspects of the project with South Western Railway general manager Kuldeep Chaturvedi and other top officials in Hubli on Friday. The team will also hold a discussion with the Forest Department officials in Dharwad.Later, they will interact with the general public.The team will leave to Sirsi on Saturday and have a public interaction at 10.00 am and also take part in a similar programme in Siddapur at 4.00 pm.
