New Delhi: Former Pakistani cricketer and politician Imran Khan has offered free treatment to chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is suffering from cancer.

Khan, chief of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Pakistan, has offered to get Geelani treated in the Showkat Khanam Memorial Cancer hospital in Lahore. Khan set up this cancer hospital in the name of his mother after she died of cancer a few years ago.

Meanwhile, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have sent goodwill messages to Geelani.

Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Shahid Malik accompanied by Deputy High Commissioner visited Geelani and conveyed the messages of the Pakistani premiers.

Hundreds of Geelani’s well-wishers have offered to donate their kidney for the ailing leader, a Hurriyat Conference spokesman told PTI.
