The state of Karnataka is experiencing a heavy monsoon after a period of water shortage. As per reports, the district of Belagavi is not only going through a high period of monsoon, but is also dealing with the problem of snake infestation. Reports mention that the snakes being spotted are of the poisonous kind, which are appearing all over the district of Belagavi. They are spotted around homes and even in monasteries. It is believed that because of the rain, the reptiles are trying to look for densely populated areas to seek some warmth and relief. One snake was recently found at the home of a local named Suresh Sanadi, a resident of the Sambargi village. It was caught by Vishwa Bamane, a reptile rescuer who hails from Salagare village, in Maharashtra. According to more reports, a 6-foot-long cobra was also caught around the same area of the village. Similarly, the snakes are being found in a lot of places around the district, terrorising the villagers. The locals are thus taking the help of reptile rescuers. After being rescued, the snakes are being released in the Salagara forest in Maharashtra.
The video shared by Local18 shows a compilation of snakes being captured from the area by rescuers. The long reptiles are seen being caught with the help of a stick-like metal instrument, curved at the end.
Back in May, Local18 reported on a snake catcher from the Hunchanatti village, Belagavi, who was bitten by the snake he caught. The catcher, named Shahid, caught a snake in his house and as he was about to release it in the wild, the reptile bit him.
Even in such a situation, he caught the snake again in a plastic jar and immediately went to a hospital. He told the staff that he did not know which species it was from, so he brought it to them, as it would help them with the right medication.
