PARADIP: The Congress, CPI, CPM, Forward Bloc, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Samajwadi Party on Saturday launched an indefinite dharna at Dhinkia protesting the work of the coastal road. Demanding shifting of Posco project from the area, the participating leaders said the indefinite dharna would continue from dawn to dusk until the road construction, with the help of armed police forces, is stopped. Justifying the joint dharna, CPI leader N Narayan Reddy said, “I have taken up the responsibility to intensify the stir at Dhinkia for which I have decided to camp here and will stand by the harried villagers in the absence of anti-Posco leader Abhay Sahu.” Flag march by armed police forces in the area tantamounts to violation of human rights and displays the colonial mindset of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Senior Left leaders who are participating in the dharna have threatened to intensify the agitation by including women and schoolchildren.
