HYDERABAD: Textiles and handloom minister P Shankar Rao has ridiculed YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy for approaching the Supreme Court to get a stay on the High Court’s direction to the CBI to probe the illegal assets amassed by him.“Jagan had earlier claimed that he was not worried and ready to face any kind of probe. He now fears CBI probe and filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court for a stay,” Rao said while talking with reporters at the CLP office here on Tuesday.“Jagan is following in the footsteps of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu who had got a stay order on an inquiry into his alleged involvement in the Yeleru scam. Late YSR’s son should prove his sincerity by cooperating with the investigation officials. A person who is clean does not approach the court to get stay order if allegations are made against him. I am prepared to face any kind of enquiry against assets owned by me and my family members,” the minister said.Expressing his unhappiness at the way his party colleagues from Telangana were conducting meetings, he said, “They (Telangana Congress steering committee) have not invited me to any of their meetings. I am not interested either to go along with them,” he said.
