A junior engineer, Vivekanand Choudhary, working with the Jharkhand government was on Friday dismissed from services on corruption charges.
The termination order was issued by the Principal Secretary of the Road Construction department, Raj Bala Verma, after a vigilance probe found him guilty of allegedly amassing over Rs 4.48 crore, an official communique said quoting her.
The vigilance bureau, which had filed an FIR against him, found that the engineer had allegedly accumulated movable and immovable property in the name of his wife Shashi Prabha Devi and son Ravikant.
The engineer, who was asked to place his contention, had allegedly stayed away from the probing team, Verma said.
He was working with the rural works department.
