Kavalams 84th birthday celebrated

ALAPPUZHA: The ‘sathabhishekam’ (84th birthday) of dramatist Kavalam Narayana Panicker was celebrated at his ancestral home Chalayil House, Kavalam, near here, the other day.Speaker G Karthikeyan inaugurated the celebration. Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph presided over the function. Actor Nedumudi Venu, district panchayat president Prathibha Hari, Chakkulathukavu temple priest Radhakarishnan Namboothiri, Kerala Press Academy member Cherukara Sunny Lukose, Kavalam panchayat president Molamma Satheesan and block panchayat president V K Venugopal spoke at the function jointly organised by the Kuttanad Paithrika Kendram, Kavalam Samskriti, Soorya Yuvajana Kshemakendram and Gujarat Malayali Association.
