NALGONDA: Former minister and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who launched an indefinite hunger strike at the Clock Tower Centre on Tuesday for the Telangana cause, lashed out at chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He alleged that Kiran Kumar got the chief minister post through lobbying. The chief minister had resorted to cheap politics for his survival. There was no truth in the report submitted by Kiran Kumar to AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad that he quit his minister post after being admonished by him, Venkat Reddy said, while making it clear that he resigned for the T cause. The former minister also accused the chief minister of neglecting the development of Telangana region. The MLA questioned the rationale behind conducting the second phase of Rachchabanda programme from Wednesday when there were no village sarpanches. He advised the chief minister instead of launching new schemes like `1-a-kg rice scheme for publicity, it would be always better to implement the welfare programmes initiated by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy effectively by allocating adequate funds for them. The MLA said the chief minister would be held responsible if the latter tried to foil the indefinite hunger strike of the former.
