KPSC scam: Fresh probe

BANGALORE: The State Government on Tuesday submitted to the High Court that the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) will conduct a fresh probe into the entire examination conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), which is facing charges of irregularities. It also submitted the five officers list who are going to conduct the probe.
Facing serious criticism from the High Court for not conducting an exhaustive inquiry into the scam, the government filed an interlocutory application stating that it will go through entire examinations conducted by KPSC during 1998, 1999 and 2004. It would not confine itself to the cases specifically stated in the writ petition or cases already brought about in its report, the government said.
