TIRUCHY: Six persons, including a DMK functionary and a retired VAO were arrested on Wednesday for grabbing land.Police said R Christopher, son of Rozario of Anna Nagar, Tiruverumbur, had lodged a complaint that his father’s three-acre land in Sooriyur was transferred to T Sankar (35), Kumpakudi DMK branch secretary, using fake papers, showing that it was purchased from Gandhimathi (53) of Chennai. Sankar, who had transferred the land in his name, laid housing plots there and started selling them. Sankar, father Thangaraj (62) of Velayudakudi, J Xavier (64), retired VAO, V Ayyar (55), X Joseph (35) of Varaganeri and N Gandhimathi (53) were arrested.
