London: A 51 year old taxi driver in London has been found guilty of raping and molesting a dozen women.
The case has shattered the safe image that the city's black cabs have enjoyed for decades.
John Worboys works part time as cab driver and part time as a stripper at a club in London.
But little did his women audience realize, all these years, that they were dangerously close to one of Britain's worst sexual offenders.
Worboys has been convicted of raping 12 women between October 2006 and February 2008.
Pretending to celebrate a lottery or casino win, he would convince his victims to have a drink spiked with sedatives, before raping them.
One of the victim admits it by saying,” He offered me a drink, I felt vulnerable.”
Worboys used to cruise the streets and spot his victims in his a black London cab, once considered a symbol of safe travel for women late at night. Police say that JW used what they term as the rape kit compromising of gloves, alchohol, glasses, drugs and condoms.
The investigators have already identified 85 victims but police fear that there could be more. John Worboys will be sentenced on April 21 and could face a life imprisonment.
