VELLORE: A man died when a tractor carrying a sugarcane load hit his auto and the load fell on him, near Gudiyattam on Wednesday night.Siva (20) of Kothapalli village in Pernambut was returning in an autorickshaw from a function at Arasampattu along with his drum troop.When they were near the Singilpadi junction road near Madhanur, a tractor carrying loads of sugarcane rammed into their auto and the load was said to have slipped on Siva, killing him on the spot. The driver of the tractor fled the scene. Gudiyattam taluk police have registered a case, seised the tractor and are on the lookout for the driver.
