HASSAN: Meet Hemanth Kumar, who was an unheard artist until making it to the Limca Book of Records.Born in a poor family, he is now recognised as a gifted artist. He has painted the pictures of politicians, scholars, gods and nature on 1,500 used ball pens — which merited an entry into the famed Indian record book about a year ago.Hemanth now plans to write pictures of national leaders in smaller items. He says his next goal is to to see his name in the Guinness Book of Records by painting pictures inside the refills of ball-point pens.Hemanth told Express that commitment and dedication had helped him to focus on his achievement in the midst of all problems.Unsurprisingly, the visitor inflow into Hemanth Kumar’s Arts Centre on Hosaline Road, here, has been showing a steady increase. The artist with a difference recalls that he started painting when he was 12 years old.Initially, he began with writing and painting pictures of nature on drawing sheets. He adds that his interest started to show a shift in drawing pictures on small objects. As a first, he started experimenting with empty bottles. So far he has painted pictures of various kinds in and out 350 empty bottles. He earns a living by writing banners and display name boards.
