BANGALORE: The state meteorological department forecast on Sunday that the Southwest monsoon will advance into the remaining parts of Karnataka in the next two days, with certain places receiving heavy rainfall.
Monsoon hit the state on June 3 "Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon in the remaining parts of the north interior Karnataka during next 48 hours," a statement from the meteorological department said on Sunday evening.

Heavy rainfall warning has been issued. "Heavy to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and Ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka in the next 48 hours. While heavy rain would also occur at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka during the same period,' it said.

As per the forecast very heavy rainfall measuring around 13 cm is expected to occur in Ammathi in Kodagu district, while heavy rainfall has been predicted for Kottigehara in Chikmagalur, Virajpet in Kodagu.
