KOCHI: Dismissing claims that the government is yet to provide the privileges announced under the Moolampilly Rehabilitation Package, District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, on Monday, said that a sum of over `1 crore has already been handed over to the PWD, electricity board and water authority and the related works to develop basic facilities are progressing in a time-bound manner. The works on the facilities will be completed within a month, Pareeth added. Besides, the govt has also passed a special order to give `5000 as rent to each family for the next 6 months. Pattas under the rehabilitation norms were also handed to 326 families, the Collector said.The govt has also given `75,000 towards piling to those who have started or completed the construction of houses on the 5-6 cents of land given free of cost to them, with permission from the respective local bodies.The Collector also announced that all the proclaimed privileges under the Moolamppilly package have been given to those who have withdrawn cases filed against the government and to those who have submitted self-attested certificates in place of ownership documents. Except for the dues of the past few months, there have not been any lapses in settling the privileges, he added.
