Balaghat: A mentally challenged woman allegedly killed her baby by hitting with a stone soon after giving birth to him in Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place at the local bus stand late on Friday night and the concerned woman was arrested, police said on Saturday.
Malti Lakhera, a beggar who used to live at the bus stand after her husband left her, delivered a baby boy on Friday night, they said.
Later, she hit the baby with a stone killing him on the spot, police said.
The woman has been arrested, they said adding that a case has been registered and further investigations were on.
