KOCHI: The Amrita Centre for Nano Science and Molecular Medicine of the Amrita University will launch two nano products in the field of bio-medical and solar energy technology during the international conference on nano technology to be held at the AIMS, Kochi, from February 21 to 24. Announcing this, Dr Shanti Nair, Director and Professor, Amrita Centre for Nano Science and Molecular Medicine, said the conference will bring together world leaders in the field of regenerative medicine and molecular medicine in which nano technology provides a major value addition. ‘’While, ‘NANOBIO 2012’ will focus on the latest advances in the bio-medical applications of nano materials, ‘NANO SOLAR 2012’ will focus on new innovative developments in solar energy technology and electrical storage technologies,’’ said Dr Shanti Nair, conference chairman. Since its inception in 2006, it had become a centre of excellence in R&D in nano technology. The products being perfected at the centre would help cure dreaded diseases at affordable costs, he said. Dr. Tony Mikos from Rice University, USA, expert in nano technology and a fellow of the National Academy of Engineering, USA, and 500 delegates from all over the world will attend the conference. Amrita would also sign an MoU with Nanobiosym, USA, for the development of more nanotech products.
