KOCHI: Three doctors of the Kochi Cooperative Medical College Hospital were suspended from duty on Friday following a patient’s death at a private hospital after being denied timely attention at the hospital. “Duty medical officer, surgery, Dr Muzamil, and two house surgeons - Dr Prizy and Dr Rahul - have been suspended for negligence of duty,” said medical director Mohan Sam.He said the three were suspended after a preliminary inquiry suspected a lagging on the part of these doctors.The relatives had complained about the negligence on the part of the doctors, he said.Moreover, an inquiry has been ordered into the issue, he said and added that the report would be submitted on Saturday. Meanwhile, the house surgeons association had given a strike notice, Sam said.The person who met with an accident was brought to the hospital on Wednesday night. He was given preliminary treatment and a CT scan was taken, which had found a clot in the brain.As there was no neurosurgeon at that time in the hospital, the patient was referred to a private hospital where he died.
