No clear frontrunner emerging in US polls

New Delhi: It's a race wide open with the New Hampshire results turning the contest on its head. No party has a clear frontrunner.

For Democrats, the next big clashes are in Nevada and South Carolina on January 19.

South Carolina has a huge African-American population which gives Senator Barack Obama an edge.

But Nevada voted for Bill Clinton twice and that might help Hillary. She is also well liked in the state's Hispanic community, which forms a large part of the voting population, but the going won't be so easy.

Obama's got a crucial endorsement on Thursday — the 60,000 member Culinary Workers Union officially endorsed him in Las Vegas.
